How it works, step by step.

1. Tell us what you need: walk in, call or book online. We confirm which DMV transaction applies to you.

2. We check your documents: before any paid work begins, we review what you have and tell you if anything is missing.

3. We prepare and submit: your forms are completed with you, in your language, and submitted to the DMV through our licensed private service bureau.

4. You get a numbered, itemized receipt: it shows the DMV fee and our service fee separately, as DMV rules for private service bureaus require.

Transactions we help with

Registrations: new registrations, renewals, re-registrations, amended and duplicate registrations, and out-of-state vehicles moving to New York.

Plates: plate surrender, replacement of lost, stolen or damaged plates, and custom plate orders.

Titles: title transfers, duplicate titles, title corrections, lien records and releases, and title-only transactions such as lease buyouts.

Licenses and IDs: we prepare driver license, learner permit and non-driver ID applications and check your documents. Photos, vision tests, knowledge tests and road tests are done by you at the DMV.

Common questions

Are you the DMV?

No. TEMA Express Services is a licensed private service bureau, not an official agency of the Department of Motor Vehicles. We help you prepare and process eligible DMV transactions for a service fee.

Can I do this myself?

Often, yes. Many transactions are available at no additional charge directly from the official DMV website at www.dmv.ny.gov. Clients come to us when they want help with the paperwork, have documents in another language, or prefer to work with someone they know.

How much does it cost?

You pay the DMV's own fees plus our service fee. Both are explained and agreed with you before we begin, and your receipt shows how much went to the DMV and how much was our fee.

How long does it take?

It depends on the transaction and on the DMV. We tell you what to expect for your case. We cannot guarantee plates, registrations, titles or licenses; the DMV makes the final decision.

Do I need insurance before I register?

Yes. New York requires proof of New York auto liability insurance to register a vehicle.
